Gunnedah Netball Carnival

Last Sunday, Gunnedah South entered 5 teams in the local netball carnival. All the girls who participated had a great day. The Red Devils team were undefeated until their last game, however still came home runners-up. A special thanks must go to those parents who volunteered to help coach and manage a team, and to our very much appreciated umpires Ev Chapman, Courtney Riley, Emma Chapman, Karina Murray and Lea Jones. Mr Bevan Sharman put up the tent for all to take refuge in and all the parents who helped in the canteen made it a hugely successful day. As it was reported to me , a big part of the enjoyment of participating in these carnivals is sitting with your friends under a blanket and eating together.

Krystal and Allison both received Highly Commended awards when they represented our school at Narrabri last Wednesday and competed in the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking competition. Krystal spoke about “learning from others”, while Allison’s speech was on “Australia, the lucky country”. Both girls were also required to do an impromptu speech for 50% of their marks. Congratulations on doing so well girls!
