NUMERACY: FAMILIES WORKING IT OUT TOGETHER, THE OPPORTUNITIES
ARE EVERYWHERE
www.dest.gov.au/schools/publications/index.htm
As part of its commitment to improving students' numeracy outcomes,
the Australian Government engaged the Western Australian Department
of Education to develop a poster and three brochures aimed at promoting
the importance of numeracy to parents. Murdoch University was sub-contracted
to develop the materials, which were funded through the Australian
Government's Numeracy Research and Development Initiative.
The three brochures are available for downloading from this web
site. The brochures target different age groups - the early years,
and the middle and later years of primary school. Sample copies
have been distributed to every primary school in Australia. Additional
copies of both the poster and brochures can be ordered by contacting
the Clearinghouse for National Literacy and Numeracy
